Dr Rhys Dallimore – Preventative Medicine (Head Corporate Doctor)
Dr Rhys Dallimore has been involved in medicine for 24 years. He has a broad range of experience from urban general practice, to rural and remote medicine, to anaesthetics and intensive care. Over the years, it has become clear to him that preventative medicine is the future of health care, and is the best way to ensure the ongoing health of an individual in the broadest sense of the word. He would rate his ability to listen deeply as the most useful tool he has developed in his career as a doctor. Dr Richard Brown – Sports Medicine Physician
Doctor Richard Brown treats elite athletes. His patient list reads like a who’s who in Australian sport. His warm down to earth and approachable manner adds to the effectiveness and popularity of this high profile Sports Medicine Physician. Considered amongst the top sports physicians in the state and throughout Australia, Tyack Corporate Health is delighted to have Dr Richard Brown consulting as part of our team.
Highly trained and experienced Dr Richard Brown is a Qualified Sports Physician FACSP and General Practitioner FRACGP. He has served for three years as the Medical Director for the Queensland Reds Rugby Union team. He is also the QAS Rugby doctor and preferred provider and has a history of past appointments as physician for the NSW Waratahs and Sydney Swans academies. His special interests include Rugby injuries and tendon problems.
Dr Weston Allen – Preventative Medicine Specialist -Author
This is a man who walks his talk. Not a day goes by where this preventive medicine health leader is not out running or cycling with the dedication of an elite athlete. What he discovers in his research transpires in his life. A highly active lifestyle, with a great diet and sound work/ life balance put him in a health category with men half his age. He has a history in corporate health that spans 30 years.
After visiting leading US universities and cardiologists such as Dr Robert Bruce, in 1976, Dr Allen introduced stress testing using the (now standard) Bruce Protocol to Queensland and the first scientific ‘health age’ assessment to Australia. Dr Allen, Julia Tyack and other health professionals then founded the first Australian Institute of Total Health which took its unique, highly motivational and popular Total Health program to many thousands of teachers, clergy and executives across Australia, and overseas.
Dr Allen was invited by the Family Medicine division of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners to educate GPs around Australia and to publish his work in the Australian Family Physician (Volume 8. October 1979). Dr Allen also published articles in the Medical Journal of Australia (1977, 2: 434-438), the Health Commission’s Regional Roundabout (April 1978), the Australian Journal of Sports Medicine (Vol. 12. No. 1. 1980) and other scientific journals. He also authored several books on Total Health. His qualifications are MB,BS, FRACGP, Grad. Dip. Phys. Med. (Graduate Diploma in Physical Medicine).
Dr Allens role on our team is to keep us abreast of the latest evidence based research and works with our team to oversee the collation of final results into an actionable plan.
Byron Davey – Cardiac Scientist & Exercise Physiologist
Graduated 2005 with a BAppSci (HMS), Bachelor of Applied Science in Human Movement Studies.
Experienced in Thoracic and Cardiac Science, Measurement & Analysis of Human Performance and in Athlete Development. Byron has extensive experience working with a broad range of people from professional athletes, to children with motor deficits and those simply looking to improve their fitness and overall wellbeing. Key interests are in achieving results working one on one with clients. He achieves this through first creating awareness, educating and the implementation of correct exercise protocols. He passionately believes that exercise is for everyone regardless of age or ability.
Don Williams – Chiropractor and Neuromusculoskeletal Rehabilitation
Don is the Head of the Chiropractic and Osteopathic Department at Tyack Health. He specialises in the treatment of sporting injuries and athletic performance enhancement. His background in exercise physiology allows him to understand and develop effective, safe exercise programs. Utilising a neuromusculoskeletal rehabilitation approach, Don manages chronic pain syndromes and postural dysfunction in the general population. Don is currently completing his Masters in Rehabilitation to further his knowledge in this specialised field of health care. Don runs stability and rehabilitation classes at Tyack Health to show patients how to become involved in their own health care recovery.
Ben Rowe – Podiatrist B. Hlth. Sc (Pod)
Ben graduated from QUT in 2002 and has worked in all facets of podiatry including public sector and private practice. Ben works across a broad range of special interest areas including geriatrics, paediatrics, biomechanics and gait analysis, sports medicine, occupational health and diabetes. Ben shares his time between Tyack Health and QUT where he teaches in the Podiatry Department. Ben’s specialties in teaching are in foot and lower limb biomechanics, lower limb gait assessment and orthoses manufacture and prescription.
Robyn Clark – Registered Nurse
Robyn has extensive experience in both hospital and general practice health care. Every day Robyn witnesses the devastating effects of lifestyle related diseases that ruin people’s lives. Frustrated by the lack of awareness shown by people regarding the prevention of these diseases fuels a desire to be part of a results focused total health program that detects early warning signs and educates appropriately.
Atim Davey B.Phty
Atim graduated in Melbourne in 2001 and has a variety of experience gained from treating at numerous locations around Australia and overseas. He treats a lot of issues that if screened for and detected early could have saved businesses considerable rehabilitation time and money. Managing a lot of work related injuries gives great insight into some fundamental problems most businesses are not aware of. From this he has been able to develop a screening process to detect these issues before they become a time and cost burden.
Atim adopts a collective approach to physiotherapy treatment utilising a variety of different techniques. He has experience with sporting clubs, clinical and exercise pilates, compensable patients, general injuries and dysfunctions of all age groups.
David Rolls – Councilor, Therapist & Trainer
Completed a four year Social Work Degree at the University of Queensland in 1979. He was employed in Government agencies, and has been in private practice in Manly, Queensland since 1986. David believes each individual has the ability to manage life situations when motivated to do so. He provides information, support, and therapeutic processes to those wishing to make changes, or manage difficult issues more effectively. David has extensive experience in mediation since 1991. Trained by Bond University and Legal Aid Qld. He also provides professional services to a number of Government and non-Government agencies including training and professional supervision for employees, mediation, team building and independent review reports.
